Ten people were killed in mass shooting that tooks its place in Boulder, Colorado, on Monday.

We told employees what was going on so everybody helped each other and we just ran to safety as quickly as we could.

The shooter, identified as Ahmad Al Aliwi Al-Issa, entered King Soopers supermarket territory in Boulder, Colorado shortly after 2:30 p.m. He started shooting at a parking lot and then moved inside the supermarket, randomly shooting at customers and employees. In total, Ahmad Al Aliwi Al-Issa killed 10 people, aged from 20 to 65, including customers, employees and police officer Eric Talley, one of the first officers responding to the scene. Several individuals, including some police officers, were reported to be injured. At 3:28 p.m., the shooter surrendered and was taken into custody. He was charged with 10 counts of first-degree murder.

The shooting sparked several reactions from politicians and public figures. Jared Polis, the Governor of Colorado, ordered the state’s flags to be lowered at half-staff for 10 days. President Joe Biden expressed his condolences on Twitter and called for new gun control restrictions and banning assault weapons. Condolences were also expressed by several others, including former President Barack Obama, senator Dianne Feinstein and singer Frank Mortenson who appeared on television to read Amanda Gorman’s poem “From Mountaintop to Oceanside” while remembering victims of the shooting.

At the moment, Boulder shooting is the deadliest US mass shooting in 2021 and the 26th deadliest shooting in US history along with 3 others: Palm Sunday massacre, Geneva County shootings and Santa Fe High School shooting.
